Lee Deer

General Manager

Lee is a Niantic native with 20 years of experience in the marine industry on the Niantic River. An experienced equipment operator with 30 years under his belt, Lee has worked his way up to the General Manger position after performing any job you can imagine in the field.

Ann Canavan

Office Manager

Ann oversees the day-to-day operations of all administrative functions at the marina. From processing invoices and vendor billing to assisting customers and answering the phone, Ann has become a valued employee in a very short amount of time. Ann brings over 20 years of experience in bookkeeping and office administration.

Mike Cottrell

Service Manager

Mike, a U.S. Air Force Veteran, born and raised in Old Saybrook, CT, has over 15 years of experience in the marine industry.  Originally working on airplanes in the U.S. Air Force, Mike eventually received his A and P License in San Bernadino, CA. and was recruited by the Northrop Grumman Corp.  He spent most of his career at Edwards AFB Flight Test working on a variety of aircrafts including B-2’s and the YF-23 Programs.  In 1996, Mike felt a need to return to his first love of being on the water and began his career in the marine industry; Mercruiser Certified with approximately 70 certificates in various outboard and inboard required training, Mike has proven to be a true encyclopedia of boat repair knowledge.

Doug Goede

Senior Technician

Doug’s ability to fix anything has made him indispensable here at the marina.  Doug began his career as a marine technician over 10 years ago after being a heavy equipment mechanic for years.  Not only does he keep the boats here running, but the equipment we use to haul the boats as well.  Doug is MerCruiser certified and has attended countless classes on all types of marine engines and ship systems.

Matt Fogg

Equipment Operator

Matt has 14 years of experience in the marine trade.  Aside from being an excellent equipment operator, Matt’s talents include painting, varnishing, gel coat and fiberglass repair.  Matt is in charge of our valet rack service and performs all yard services.  His friendly smile and demeanor, as well as his talents, has made him a tremendous asset.

Johnny Deer

Yard Hand / Carpenter

John’s vast experience in the carpentry trade has proved very valuable here at the marina. His can-do attitude and willingness to learn has made him a key team member.  He performs all yard services and property maintenance and has become a skilled operator, allowing Dave and Matt to work on other jobs.
